The faith confessed in the Apostles' and Nicene Creeds and recovered in the Reformation: Scripture alone, grace alone, faith alone, Christ alone.
How God speaks, and whether His Word is enough.
Inspiration of Scripture
All Scripture is breathed out by God, so it carries His authority and does not err.
Sufficiency of Scripture
Scripture is enough for faith and life. Nothing needs to be added to it or taken from it.
Who God is: one Creator, eternally Father, Son and Spirit.
One God, Creator from nothing
There is one true God. He made everything that exists out of nothing, and He has always been God.
The Trinity
The one God exists eternally as three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, each fully God.
Who Jesus is and what He did.
Deity of Christ
Jesus is not a created being. He is God the Son, eternal and equal with the Father.
Two natures in one person
Jesus is fully God and fully man in one person, without mixing or dividing the two natures.
Virgin birth
Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary.
Substitutionary atonement
On the cross Jesus took the punishment our sins deserved, in our place.
Bodily resurrection of Christ
Jesus rose from the dead in the same body, now glorified. Without it our faith is empty.
Christ the only way
There is one mediator between God and people. No other name, path or prophet saves.
The Holy Spirit as a person and as God.
The Holy Spirit is God
The Holy Spirit is a person, not a force. He is fully God, and He lives in every believer.
Our problem, God's rescue, and the changed life that follows.
Image of God & the Fall
People are made in God's image, but since Adam everyone is born sinful and separated from God.
Justification by faith alone
God declares sinners righteous through faith in Christ, not because of anything they do.
Salvation by grace alone
Salvation is God's free gift from start to finish. It cannot be earned.
New birth & a changed life
God gives believers a new heart and keeps changing them to look like Jesus.
Assurance of salvation
Those Christ saves, He keeps. Believers can know they have eternal life.
God's people gathered, and sent.
The church & ordinances
Believers belong to a local church, are baptized, and share the Lord's Supper.
The Great Commission
Every believer is sent to make disciples of all nations.
The unseen battle, Christ's return and the judgment.
Angels, Satan & spiritual war
Angels and demons are real. Satan opposes God's people, but he is a defeated enemy.
Return of Christ & judgment
Jesus will return bodily and visibly, judge everyone, and make all things new.
